![]() ok just a minute a go i was seaching for somehting, many files came up claiming to have sources in the double and even triple digits. when i went to download these, many of them said "need more sources" but one of them was actually downloading, when i looked at the difference between these files i found that with the files i was able to download i was also able to browse host. I coulnd do this with any of the files that needed more sources. when i searched it again i found that this trick also works before you start the download. This way you can eliminate all the files that need more sources. SO my advise is: if you can browse the host then there is high chance of finding valid sources. ![]() ![]() |

![]() or just list the ArTiSt or SoNg name... that works too.. (one or the other, not both) sometimes... if you use both.. chances are you won't get a valid source. It's a bit harder to get the results.. but safer... I mean safer because if you have peerguardian... ![]() You will fin out that many files that are not valid sources... are actually "corporations" or... "buerows" (my spelling sucks....) or.. [my favorite] "Information networks"... so.. careful with those files... McAfee only blocks so many.... ~see sig. for link for peerguardian~ [free] |

![]() Browse host isn't reliable at all. You might be unable to browse a host then 10 minutes later the same host can be browsed. You may see 30 files when browsing a host, 10 minutes later you can see 100 files from that same host. You have more chance of being able to browse hosts who have chat enabled, but even then it's very random as to who can & can't be browsed. Users who are firewalled are very hard to browse. There's no option to enable/disable browsing. |

![]() sup y'all (note the gangster/redneck accent...) I hate bumping... but I got a good technique.... I've done this various times.. (yet I never realized it..) Put your cursor over the file... A good file should read... (As follows) Quote:
A song - Vicarious Title: A song Artist: vicarious Album: I kick-*** Genre: nu metal Length: 4:00 Bitrate: 128 ======== Something like that... I do this all the time.. I just now realized it works... most of the time.... Note: Look for the length Many fake files don't have length... try it out... sticky this airhead... |

Some fakes don't have length showing within extended tooltips & some have the length that you'd expect. Some fakes have zero as track number. Some have TRACK1, sometimes you have a run of files with identical tooltips info - starting from the file with 100 sources down to the file with 5 sources. And sometimes the info looks just as you'd expect from a legit file. There's no one thing that stands out...people should stay away from anything that looks remotely strange.
