Question Another question about my connection

I was downloading an audio file from LW a few minutes ago and my speed went upto 10KBS!! Can anyone tell me why this happened? My connection help a high speed for most of the download. The host has a T3 or Higher speed. Could this be why it was fast?? Also I only had 1 source

That's excellent...T3 is the fastest source you can download from, that host had very good upload speed...

T1

The T1 line is possibly the most widely used digital line. It transmits at a rate of 1.544Mbps, and is capable of sending data, voice, and video. T1 technology developed out of the need for more telephone calls. The idea was to move away from the need for one cable for each telephone call, and move into multiplexing. Multiplexing is where multiple signals from different sources are fed into a device (a multiplexer) that sends them down one cable. The signals are then de-multiplexed back to their original form.

T3

Similar technology-wise to the T1, the T3 is different in that it requires a high frequency medium such as fiber-optic or microwave, to produce their phenomenal speeds. T3 and “fractional T-3” lines are the highest capacity lines that are commonly available. With speeds up to 44 Mbps, T3 lines can replace multiple T1 lines.
