I am having the same problem & Ive v_i_r_u_s scanned alot & found nothing.
I know one thing thats making my PC freeze, and its not enough disk space (which is my main hassle with computing.. Oh come on.. who gets a computer with a TOTAL amount of 7GB disk space.. My eyepod holds more than that!!.)
But do you have the latest version of Java?
How much RAM do you have?
Do you have a low amount of disk space? (this depends on what you consider low and what your total space is.)

Also heres another thing to consider.. Does your PC freeze up mostly when you try to launch a certain program? (Mine does when I launch LW)

You could have a number of problems causing your freezing. Too many programs running, or not responding, or someone could even possibly be pinging you.

Hi GamerCyGirl

Seems like you are PC troubles are going to be long term friends

First the bad news, it is highly unlikely that anyone will be able to tell you what is wrong with your PC without a thorough examination. You see, whatever has got onto your PC is buried so deep that conventional software, like Norton AntiVirus, etc., can't find it.

Some good news, all is not lost, get your parents to take your PC back to the place they bought it to get it repaired, which will require a full reformat and replacement of all the drivers and software. So, your PC will be turned back to day one.

Some even better news, if you still have your start-up disk that came with your PC you, or your Dad, could get the PC back to "day one" yourself. The disk will reformat your hard disk and put everything back the way it was when you first got the machine.

As with any "day one" PC you will have to put all the other software you have bought back on yourself (and of course you will lose all your data in the reformatting process).

Anyway, good luck.

UK Bob

Default Virus

Hey it could because of a virus called Virtumonde/Vundo. Anti Virus Software doesnt pick this up but this tool will. Just Download and run the program. I found 34 instances of it on my computer.

It has this 2.53GHz, 192MB of RAM this is on system then when I go to Local Disk I move the arrow over it it says: Free Space 20.7GB Total Space 37.2GB
Is that good memory or not?

you haven't given any type of information as to what your computer is...

like manufacturer, CPU, brand of Hard Disk (HDD), etc...

at the very least (assuming you are running some flavor of windows) run chkdsk to see if there are any errors on your HDD, then defragment it afterwards...

to run chkdsk:
start>run then type in: chkdsk C: /f

you will find that it can't do it, but will ask if you want to run it the next time you boot up your machine...type Y (for yes) then hit enter...the next time you restart your HDD will be checked for errors...

to defragment:

start>control panel>administrative tools>computer management

hit the defragment button and let it run...

then see if this makes your stuff run better...

what OS are you using?

192MB of ram is way low for any OS IMHO...I have 2GB....

since you state your cpu is running at 2.53GHz, I'm going to guess its a P4B running at 533 MHz and you are running windows XP....as noted your RAM is way too low for any good...you need at least 512MB and more like 1024MB to really perform....if my assumption of your cpu is correct, then you need RAM that is PC2700...and of course you need to verify that it is compatible with your system before you buy it....

furthermore...

I suggest you download and install SpyBot Search & Destroy, and AdawareSE (both freeware)...update them...then run them...something that your AV scanner missed might be found...

google the above names for download links...I suggest straight from the manufacturer!....when updating Spybot use the Safer Networking servers....
