Default Are you filtering out ALBWs?

I use Albumwrap software to combine individual tracks from an album into one large file. I think a lot of people are obsessed with entire albums...so why not give them what they want!?

When I wrap the album, the default file name ends with '_ALBW'

Here's the problem...many people filter out results containing '_' since these results often contain spam.

I just had to rename all of my albums (not that hard, really ) so you people won't think I'm spamming you!

I have now removed '_' from my filters.

I did a few test searches, and I don't seem to be getting more spam than usual. Plus, I've still got plenty of other key filter words enabled, and I'm pretty good at avoiding fake files.

Personally, one of the things I like best about LW is the ability to get only the songs you like...not the entire album when you don't like 3/4 of the songs! Honestly, though, I have downloaded some ALBWs...they just seem so tasty!

Hope this helps

Dano

by the by, do you know of a program (a simple to use one, as simple as possible) that can CUT tracks? such as when there is a hidden track at the end of a cd, it usually gets lumped with the last listed track of the cd, and in the middle is a lot of silence.... any way to fix that up?

An audio editor. A free one which is just as good as but a little slower than some commercial ones is Audacity (click on link. But be sure to also download the manual & extras which are separate downloads.

Doing it manually using an audio editor is safe. Be sure to save all your edits in wav or aiff format. Then when you are happy convert to mp3. Or else if for burning, then burn directly from wav/aiff format. mp3 is a compressed format that throws away audio information to help save in size, thus every time you save into that format the quality & frequencies & tone become thinner and thinner. So always save your work in a lossless format like wav or aiff until you are finished with what you wish to do. And yes, best to burn from wav or aiff than mp3.

Oh .. and always make back up copies after each thing you do so you don't need to repeat everything in case you make a mistake. After completion when you are happy with it, the backup copies can be deleted.
