Default i cant see the picture to the movie. Audio only

hello everyone, I downloaded two movies from limewire. I'm getting the audio but not the picture with it. Why? Can I fix this with out having to download again. How do I know if its an audio only file. movies with audio and no picture, whats the point?

Hey T, Sounds like a codec's prob. See Links below.

Have a look at the thread below for links to heaps of codec packs (some people like the XP codec pack for WMP & the K-lite pack's popular too).
CODECs list for Movies/Alternate players / Video help forums/ video-mp3 fixers

That thread also has a link to VLC player. It's free, has codecs installed & is very reliable.

And here's a link for Vista codecs, just in case you're using Vista.
Vista Codec Package v4.4.8 (freeware).

thank you for replyin but..... codecs? this VLC player, does this fix the problem?

Yes, VLC Player has codecs built in. Is highly recommened on the Forums. And it's Free.

OK Sorry I had to leave for a bit.

To make VLC your default media player; While in Limewire, click the library tab. Now Click explore (lower left corner) This will take you to your saved/shared folder outside of Limewire. Now Rt. click on any file. Go to Open With > Choose Program. Now click VLC. Put check in Always use this program...> OK.

To learn about VLC, go to the download site and look for instructions there. I don't use it so I can't offer any advise.
