hello i'm new to burning i have burned music cd's i used limewire i have been reading in some of the forums i wan't to download some movies i think i figured out i need a converta or downloader i'm not sure which i do have the dvd burner on my computer i have look but there is so many of them and i don't know the one's that are good and the bad ones can some one help me also can you suggest place to download movies

Anyway, theres a million programs to turn an avi or mpg into a DVD and some are free and those STINK!

I'm using hardware & software I got at Best Buy called Pinnacle. You can digitize ANY video you feed it be that TV, camcorder, VCR whatever and turn it into an avi or mpeg file and burn it to DVD or video CD. Adding cool menus, titles, captions, effects, sound FX and mic over-dubb, chapters, balh blah. I paid about $80 for mine and it was worth it. I have some vids on you-tube I used it on [search words mjs4ever, tiggrr, zuks].

Plus you can take the vids you download and make discs of them BUT be aware - many movies you DL contain [or omit] a file that protects them from being copied. Its hit or miss and so far half of the movies I have DL'd wont burn. Thus the need to patch the PC to the TV via an S-video cable or RCA's. The video card must have those to watch vids from PC to TV.

Using LW's link to Bitzi will help to save you from downloading bad copies and infected files.
I recently gave up on WMP and switched to the VLC media player (smaller overhead, more secure, less tempermental).
AVI files seem to be the best, while WMV files are often bogus.
Recently released videos (and probably music, too) seem to have the most bogus files. Best to wait awhile before downloading a copy.
CAM (camera) copies of movies used to be pretty good. Nowadays, any idiot can use a camera, and most do a very poor job.

i use **** to convert and burn my downloads you can get this on the mininova website for free also i download all my stuff from superfundo and mininova through limewire this way i know im getting what im looking for and not some spam or virus. I never use the limewire search direct. Hope this helps btw**** is really easy to use.

Limewire may be the worst program for downloading torrents. Many sites will not dl via LW because it does not conform to some protocols, such as tracking share ratios. You'd be much better off using a true torrent client such as Vuze or uTorrent.

My torrent downloads are much faster since I switched to Vuze (with share ratio above .09).

im using limewire5 pro seems fast enough for me i tried utorrent and it went nowhere so i uninstalled it never tried vuze usually what i do is find a movie i want to download from a trusted uploader site and download via limewire. I start downloading late at night say 2 movies and when i get up in the morning its done i tried during the day but it wasn't happening i might try vuze is it faster than this? im on 56k dial up btw
