Question Mac OS X ?? Why won't it connect??

Installation went fine (Limewire 2.3.4). No problems there. Everything seems to be running okay, except for when I try to connect. It will connect for about 2 seconds and then disconnects immediatley. Whats up with that? I'm using a T1 connection at my school, and I don't think I am behind a firewall. I haven't been able to download anything because of this. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks for your time!!

No idea, maybe you are behind a firewall after all and your school is blocking access to the LimeWire hostscache router.limewire.com.

In that case, connecting won't be quite as easy. However you might want to try connecting to router2.limewire.com:6346 or router3.limewire.com:6346. Maybe one of them works.

If your school blocked access to the destination port 6346 completely to prevent its pupils from downloading cheap pr0n, you won't be able to connect at all.

Unhappy thanks for the help

ahh well... those jack tool administrators.... they must be blocking the port. I tried the suggestions, and still the same thing is happening... thanks for offering the advice. I appreciate the time, Mr. Taliban

erm .. why respond to a 5 year old thread? LW is a totally different program now. And the link you gave is for FrostWire. duh

BTW none of the above users will get any notification at all about your response.

System details - help us to help you (click on blue link) ... a few more details will give us some more clues as to what your problem is.

For osx 10.1 I'd recommend LW 4.8.1 which IMHO was a better version than 4.9 in any case.

SO you port forwarded your Motorolla with a static ip? First step is always set up a static ip, then set the NAT rule in the router for the specific port LW will connect and listen through, then save settings, reboot the device and computer. Do that for both TCP & UDP.

Check your OSX firewall. Is it on?

Default port fowarding for dummies.

I appreciate the help and from what i'm reading that probably is why my limewire won't connect to the network. I have no idea how to set up a static ip or port foward on my mac os 10.1. I will need step by step instructions if I am going to do this right. If you can help I would appreciate it but if not I will try to read about it online and figure it out for myself.
