![]() I have a Mac G4 running OS 10.2.8. I have been a Limewire Pro subscriber and participant for six months. During all of that time, Limewire worked flawlessly. Two weeks ago, I disconnected my Mac from my Cable modem for approximately 20 minutes. Since reconnecting, Limewire will not connect. I have not changed any settings on my computer. I have deleted preferences and restarted Limewire. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the current software and beta version of Limewire. As I write this, Limewire says "Quality: Connecting" with four red bars. The masthead says "Disconnected/no files available" and when I click "Connect" nothing happens. If I leave this software on for 24 hours, Limewire will read "Quality: Turbocharged" (as it always did in the past), but that is an illusion...because I am still not conncted to the network. This is very disappointing. I am NOT a computer genius, but rather someone who knows just enough to be dangerous. I need serious help here! One final note: i contacted my ISP and they reset my modem...everything else is working properly. Anyone???? Your help and input will be much appreciated. |

![]() Have you considered a Java update? Use the Software Update prog in Sys Prefs. Also have a look at your LW prefs & check that they haven't mysteriously reverted to default. It might/might not make a diff but repair permissions. |

![]() Thank you for the quick response! I have done a complete software update, and everything is the latest available. I have repaired permissions. I have looked at the LW prefs, but I am not really certain what I am looking for there. Everything seems to be in order. What do you mean when you say "mysteriously reverted to default?" I really appreciate the help!! |

![]() This really is a mystery. By the way, LW's Prefs have been known to revert to default on odd occasions for some people (else they accidently pressed the default button in the prefs.) But if you've deleted your prefs, I presume you then reset them anyway. I might see if I can get the attention of somebody else on the forum to have a look at this. In the meantime see these 2 threads: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1 (1st post only) & http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=27036 and perhaps this one also http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1 Last edited by Lord of the Rings; August 29th, 2004 at 08:54 AM. |

![]() Hello to Anyone Who is Reading This, I have been experiencing almost the exact same problem as Blusmoke_99. I have a Power Mac G4 Desktop running Mac OS X 10.1.5. I live in Boston University housing and I get internet acces through an eithernet connection to the school network. I have been using an older version of Limewire flawlessly for the beginning of this school year (the month of September) and for the last three school years as well. Today, I disconnected my eithernet cord when I took my computer into the Apple store to be looked at. When I brought my computer back home on the same day and plugged everything back in, the older versioin of Limewire would not connect anymore even though it had connected earlier that same day. So, I downloaded the latest version of Limewire to see if that would help, but it didn't. The only thing that I really did was disconnect and re-connect the eithernet cord. Now, when I try to connect with the latest version of Limewire, it just says that it is "connecting" all of the time, but it never actually connects. I loved Limewire when it would actually connect, but now I feel so frusterated because I cannot download or upload anything. Please help me get connected again! -Justin |

![]() Justin When you disconnected from the university network, you were probably assigned to a different IP and part of their network. I don't think your problem is the setup (it worked earlier), so perhaps you could check with the network people first that they allow connections to the gnutella network over port 6346. |

![]() How can you tell that LW saying "Turbo-charged" is an illusion? What "symptoms" have you witnessed that made you make tht assumption?
