![]() Try a SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions I was going to suggest reinstalling Java but I don't think OS 10.1 is compatible with Java 1.4.2 & installing the Mac OS X Combo Update 10.1.5 might seem a bit of a pain. Could try Jum's Build to see if it makes any difference. This is a beta of a beta but generally works fine. I never had any problem with it. |

![]() also, if you can open Console (in your Utilities folder), it should give more details about the fatal error that you could post here or send to pro support. btw--the Apple Info linked in LOTR's post does give info about repairing permissions on 10.1.5 (it's buried in those links and you have to search for it). Safe boot is for 10.2 and 10.3. For 10.1 the equivalent is fsck (linked above), which means you'll have to reboot and hold down the 's' key to boot into single-user mode to run fsck. |

![]() Try redownloading 4.4.4. There was a period of about 5-10 minutes where it wouldn't have worked on OSX 10.1. We quickly replaced it with a working version. FYI, at some not-too-distant-time in the future, we are going to have to drop support for 10.1. This is because Apple has not provided an implementation of Java 1.4 for OSX 10.1, and we need to begin using that version of Java to take advantage of newer features in Java. 10.2 and above support Java 1.4. |

![]() Thanks for the support . . . I updated my OS to 10.2 and ran the installer again (new download) I started the program . . . looked like it was going to work then the Fatal error message popped up It read (in part) FATAL ERROR! java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: java/awt/HeadlessException Any Help with this? ![]() You may have ran the old installer after redownloading. Make sure you delete all the old installers before downloading. Safari automatically renames new downloads if an existing file has the same name, so you may not run the file you think you're downloading. That said, you should also run http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120242 , which will upgrade your Java to 1.4. That will also fix the problem you're seeing. |
