It is important to download using Safari. IE is, it seems, incapable of downloadig dmg files. I hope this helps, or we'll have to think again!

No i've used safari as well and as soon as it starts to download it, it states something about disk mounting and then says mounting failed... Totally beyond me, any ideas?

Go to Safari & clear out history & cache & try again. You're ending up with an incomplete dmg file. That's why it won't mount.

I can't recall the exact hitory of the various OSX 10.3s, but is there any reason you do not update to OSX 10.3.9?... I don't know if this would help.
