Default Limewire to ITunes?

Is there an easy way of copying my downloaded Limewire files to my ITunes library? I can open the Limewire folder in ITunes but cannot copy the files?

Welcome to the forums Lee_1!

Do you mean importing songs directly into iTunes after they've been downloaded? If so, LimeWire can do this. Open up LimeWire and go to "LimeWire" in the menu bar (its next to the File menu) and come down to "Preferences." Next, click the grey arrow next to "iTunes" in the list of Options and click "Importing." Click the box that says "Enable iTunes importing" and click the OK button at the bottom of the Options window.

I hope this helps.

Kind of, I can download the files and play them in ITunes from the limewire shared folder, but when I shut down limiewire, the files are gone and do not get added to the ITunes library! Any ideas? (This only happens in windows, on the Mac they are automatically added to the library when played)

Lee.... It really does help us to know what you are using and now I see you having trouble with Windows not Mac. Those windows experts seldom venture into the world of Mac I understand the procedure is different on Windows, and the posts by Lord of the rings in the following link will hopefully help:-

Let us know how you get on.

Don't be confused with the LW playlist within iTunes. That is simply a playlist & until you manually add the songs if using windows, then the songs will still be within the LW downld folder.
A playlist is simply a document that has links that point to the location of the song files. The LW playlist points to the songs in the LW downld folder.
