![]() Is there anything you've changed in your system or settings that may have contributed in you losing connection? I don't know whether the Airport supports UPnP. If it does, then make sure it's enabled. If not then you may need to manually port forward it. I think there's some instructions in the support section on that link you suggested you looked at. Connection problems? Check here first! However if you do this, you'll need to do a separate port forward for each computer & use different port no.'s Make sure the port you've cleared in the firewall is the same as the one in your LW Prefs>Advanced>Firewall settings for both Listening port & manual port forward OR UPnP port. Make sure these are the same. |

![]() Just came back home. thanks for the suggestions, but the limewire/gnutella port just will not show on the dialog. I have tried to insert it as "other" and assigning the above port and name, but no luck. Still no connection. thank you all Luca |

![]() It's odd both computers should suffer the same issue at the same time. What happens when you open LW? Do you get a firewall icon showing at the bottom of the screen (a brick wall icon)? How long after you updated LW did the connection problem start? |

Intel iMac but he is running 10.4.4. I have an Intel iMac which is obviously running 10.4.4. The common denominator... 10.4.4. We are not the only guys on this forum reporting problems with 10.4.4 and Limewire. |

![]() Well there's lots of Tiger users out there. Whether the new update has affected LW, it's a possibility so I see your point now. I notice the offline version for 10.4.4 was made available on January 10th. (I use Panther at present.) It's actually quite common for Mac OSX updates to muck up LW. Generally it's to do with Java. And re-installing Java using the "Offline" version most often fixes it. But the symptoms don't appear to be the same. Normally when OSX updates affect LW, people can't open LW at all. They get the "bouncing in dock" syndrome. Another possibility is re-installing 10.4.4 using the "Offline" version. 10.4.4 update for 10.4.3 users or the Combo 10.4.4. Also repairing permissions after all updates & installations. Java 1.4.2 for Tiger (click on link) But somehow I'm not so sure this is the problem. But I'm all ears to hear if this is an issue. I just found this thread on the mac forum: 10.4.4 Ruined my computer but I don't know if it applies. |

![]() My Powerbook is a 15 " 1.25mhz model (but I lust after your macpro....) good news to report. After mucking about with all kind of stuff the software now works great???? I must admit I went at this with a gonzo method, so I am not sure what worked, if anything, so this will not be much help to others. I reinstalled the software after deleteing all limewire and other p2p programs. I mucked about airport I created a limewire port in my firewall installed and enabled latest java restarted countless times (I am a child of system 6,7 and 9) chanted and danced around the machine I strongly suspect a provider issue, since the problem showed on both machines ( a powerbook 12" running 10.4.4) and now it is gone. thank you for all the help this is a great resource.
