Same problem Sorry that I can't answer your question, I came here to post the exact same problem- it says "QuickTime cannot open the file: "LimeWireSoftOSX" it is not a file that QuickTime understands (-2048)" WTF?! edited to add: I tried to open it with other applications than QuickTime which is the default, but none of them work either. |

Hi folks I'd be careful--that file doesn't sound like something you should want to open. Where did you find that file? The real LimeWire is FREE from www.limewire.com, and is a real .dmg that Disk Utility will open properly. There have been many sad stories of other sites scamming users into paying for LimeWire. If this is a new one, others would appreciate the details. |

THanks Hi, I did download from www.limewire.com and as far as I know, did everything I was supposed to do, so I still can't figure out why it won't work. I guess there are other programs I can use... |

Thanks for that advice, I'm now trying through Safari and at the page where it asks if you're going to use it for copyright infringement, the continue button is not accessible no matter which option I choose (I will or I will not). The "Back to Home" button is fine but the "Continue" button is grey and I can't click on it! ... |

Huh? I just tried, and it works fine here. Something is messed up then with your Safari. Bad cache maybe? The Safari menu has a "Clear cache" and a "Reset Safari" command. Maybe trying one of those will help. If not, try FireFox. Still, the Safari problem is woth investigating. |
