Default LW downloaded but won't open

hi
i had LW working a month ago, then one day it just wouldn't open.
i've deleted all LW files (i think) and re-downloaded. many times.
the clicked icon pulses but then nothing happens.
there's no message of any kind.

(mac OSX 10.4.3, Limewire 4.10)

please help if you can.

thank you.

Try a SAFE boot & repair permissions. If that doesn't fix it then see QuickTime 7.0.4 bug stops LimeWire from opening!

hi Lord

i'm following your LW advice here and elsewhere in this forum.

meanwhile, my mac will not safe boot: the timer symbol just goes round endlessly and, after a short while, the mac makes a noise like it's just turned into an industrial air-conditioner. i'm guessing this is not good?

the noise is the fan kicking in, right? That's because the processor is working like crazy checking and fixing the disk.

Safe boot takes quite a while compared to a regular startup, but the longest I can recall was less than 15 minutes. Several safe boots might be required to fix lots of problems.
