help! dowloaded limewire osx and it opened in word
 

i downloaded the basic version and it was fine. then i bought limewire pro. the icon was bouncing. then i uninstalled and reinstalled then i was trying everything to download. the next thing i knew, when i went to double click to install the Word document opens with nothing. any help would be very much appreciated.

Explorer is out of date on OSX!!! It can no longer handle the new internet protocols or those pertaining specifically with OSX. M$ is so slow to update their mac software unless it's bringing in lots of $ that they should be avoided at all costs.

thanks, but i am actually using safari. and i have trashed and reloaded several times and it is still opening in word.

i would really appreciate any other suggestion to correct this problem. i am so about to cry or throw this mac through the window.

What program is trying to open it? Is it StuffIt expander? Stuffit is unable to open dmg files competently. Only use Disk Copy. Drag & drop the LW dmg file onto disk copy. You could also go to the disk copy prefs & disable verification or checksum verification.
