Removing Limewire from iPod

Hi All,

How does one remove the limewire directory from an iPod without losing any music? Also, how do I keep the limewire folder from updating onto the iPod? I've got iTunes to update only the folders I have checked. Limewire isn't showing on the list. I don't know why. I'm using an iBook G4.

Easiest way would be to stop the LW playlist appearing in iTunes. If you want to do that, go to LW's preferences -> iTunes -> Sharing & disable the sharing option.

If you do want to keep that function, then manually update your iPod instead of automatic updating it. See how to manually update here http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/tu...tarted_t3.html & watch the video & click on the read more. ;)

Thanks for the quick response. :D It's really helped.

I finally found in "Automatically Update Selected Playlists" the LW folder and unchecked it. If I were to go into iTunes and delete the LW folder, would LW make another folder and put downloaded files in it? Would I loose them out of the main Library folder by deleting the LW folder?

Not if you deleted it from the iTunes library, but you would if you deleted it from LW. You can also disable sharing from the iTunes preferences under sharing. After all with both this & LW's iTunes sharing enabled ... that's why you're getting a LW playlist. I should imagine after disabling the function the playlist will simply disappear. It did for me when I disabled it last year. (it annoyed my partner having my LW playlist on her itunes on her computer. :D)

I disabled sharing in iTunes and restarted iTunes. Still no luck. The Limewire folder was still there. So, I deleted the folder. Hopefully that will take out the limewire folder from my iPod.

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.
