Question Limewire Crashes

Each time I have attempted to open Limewire (MacOSX operating system) is repeated crashes(at least 5 attempts). I have even attempted uninstalling the application, then re-installing. Same result. It has worked problem free for nearly 1 year. I dunno why it's happening suddenly

Anyone have an idea as to why this could be occurring? I've also tried restarting my computer after uninstall

Any help would be

Maybe an update (or reinstallation) of your Java would do the trick...

Default dmg not recognised

Same thing happened to me.

(I'm new here and have read loads of threads, this one is how my problem started, so I hope this is where I am supposed to post a reply. )

Then I uninstalled, disk utility repair, restart.
Went to the OSX Firewall instructions posted by Lord of the Rings, downloaded the Java 5.0 but I couldn't load it as the hard disk had a red exclamation mark.
I then downloaded limewire once again - this time when I double clicked on the dmg I got the message "not recognised" !
Have no idea where to go from here.
Hope someone out there has an idea for me.
Thanks in advance
Matilda
