These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. Commercial advertising is not allowed in any form, including using in signatures. 3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum. 4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks. 5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit or used for commercial advertising. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban. 13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. 15. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. We hope your visit is helpful and mutually beneficial to the entire community. |

Loss of Downloads (1) I had 6 downloads going yesterday, and when I open LWP, they have all disappeared. Did they go to Never-never land? (2) When I go to the TOOL menu, all I find underneath is "Statistics" ... no "Options" subheading. I have version 4.12.6 Pro |
| |||
No, I didn't see the downloads completed. I did have the automatic clearance after downloading .... I changed it. LWP is Limewire Pro. The files were not in the library or the incomplete folder. A computer search did not find these files. In fact, I had one completed file in my download folder that just disappeared today. I'm going to check out my eMAC with a disk utility.Or else, I have a gremlin. |

That does sound odd. On the Mac version LW, the preferences are found under the LimeWire name on the very top toolbar (next to the apple icon at far left.) Else a keyboard shortcut is ⌘ , which finds the preferences for most Mac OSX programs. Options I can think of are: 1. You chose to download the particular file to a different location using the control-click options. 2. The files didn't actually complete downloading & show up under a slightly different name to what it showed in LW. 3. Same as previous except the files did finish downloading. 4. The files didn't complete & you pressed the Clear Inactive button. Don't forget for fast & easy access, go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) & the folder will open up for you. You can do that with both the Saved Files Folder & your Shared folder or whatever you renamed your download folder to. You could also check your incomplete folder. Put the folders into list mode, then arrange by date modified so the most recent ones show at the top of the list in the folder. |

downloads partially or majorly complete just dissappear i certainly hope someone has the ability to hlp me here because i`m totally mystified.I recently searched for and downloaded (or began downloading) four movies i have wanted for ages.LOw and behold they where available checked for potential harm and quality and again yippee all good.I started the downloads and luck agian was with me as all where downloading at avery fast rate ( for AUstralia anyway).In the n middle of the night on a call of nature i quickly checked all was well and it was i had on average downloaded 60% or more of each of the movies.In the morning i hit the enter button to fire up the screen and right b4 my eyes about 30 seconds later the entire download investment simply vanished.I have checked every place i can think of ie., saved files ,incomplte files and no luck they appear to gone to god but with that amount of download megabytes i cannot believe thaey are not somwhere it would in total be in the order of 3gbs.I have before and since downloaded a movie (*** Highly recommended by the way)and no worries there all performed as expected .I have tried to download the same movies again but this time i am having great difficulty gettng past the searching for sources pain and after giving it days to locate a source have given up.I had on each of the movies checked the quality and in each case it was as reccomened by bitzi they where excellent copies.They then continued on their merry way until the incident i related happenned the next moorning.Can anyone help with advice as to where to look and hopefully recover them at the point at which they vanished and complete the download and also avoid it ever happenninmg aghain.I would also ask for some advice as to how to configure my firewall so nothing i choose to download from limewire is blocked in any way as i notice the brickwall icon displayed in the system tray although i am not sure thia is stoppiung my choices from finding sources Last edited by Lord of the Rings; March 11th, 2009 at 01:18 AM. Right-click on any file in your Downloads window & choose 'Locate File on Disk' from the menu; http://www.gnutellaforums.com/gettin...disk-tool.html which should take you to the incomplete folder. Check if the missing files are inside there. Search the title of the missing video(s) on your computer, see if it shows anywhere. You could also search .avi or .mpg or whatever file extension it had. |

To search computer, simply hold down Control and F keys at same time. Type in .avi or .mpg for example. And set search to Computer or Documents. The search will take a while. Yes I agree with your comments. I need to stay reasonably unbiased here, but I do have to agree with you. |
