Default mac 0SX 10.4.11 and Limewire

Hello everyone this is my first time here.

I'm running OSX 10.4.11 on my power PC G5 and I've just downloaded Limewire 5. It doesn't open and I now realize that it only works with 10.5. Do I need to uninstall it before installing the right version? If so how do I do that?
Can someone tell me which version I should be looking for?

Thanks

You can only run LW 5 if you can install Java 1.6 (6). And Mac's Java 6 is only 64-bit compatible so only the newest intel computers are able to use that java since they are 64-bit. So depends upon your computer. If you can tell me the brand model, I might be able to find out if it is compatible. Mactracker - get info on any Mac keeps track of all the apple computer models.

Default Having trouble also

I am having trouble downloading an older version of LWpro for my older OS. When I try and download it from the website it tells me there is nothing to install. Any ideas?
Thanks,

You first need to remove the file called Install Limewire.pkg from the receipts folder in library; see where to find it here Receipts folder sample image

No, not an intel mac then. It didn't hit me earlier, but all power macs were not intel macs (the processors were made by Motorolla instead). So you will be restricted to LW 4.18
The intel desktop macs are referred to as MacPro's, not Power Macs.

You might be looking for limewire instead of Install LimeWire.pkg. You need to look in the main Library, not the library folder in your user account.
OSX -> Library -> Receipts -> Install LimeWire.pkg

Arrange that folder in list mode & alphabetically. Look under i for install limewire.pkg

If you have never used LW before ... then you will not have a LW preferences folder. If you have, you will find it here: Deleting LW Preferences folder in OSX
