Default First it worked, now it's dead... help!

hello all. I downloaded and installed limewire 4.5 for mac. I have an imac 233hz OS 9.2.2, 96 mb ram.

I opened it and voila! it worked. I tried a sample download. no problem. In fact I was amazed at how fast the connection was. I was thrilled.

THEN... I clicked on menu-quit to close the program and it froze my computer. ok. no big deal. just re-started.

before I opened it next time, I decided to move the location of the folder to a folder within my applications folder. I did so and now it wouldn't open. I'd get the clock icon and then it would just die. A friend told me I should not have moved the folder location!! (who knew??) so I thought, ok, I'll uninstall it and try again. So I did an uninstall which worked fine. then re-downloaded and re-installed without messing with the location. I went to open it and the same thing is happening. It starts to open and then dies. sometimes it dies right after the clock icon and things start loading and then the Limewire logo comes up in the upper right hand of the computer. Once I actually got the gnutella window to open but it died right away.

I'm not sure how to fix this. I know it worked once....
is this a bug with 4.5? my friend has a mac OS 8.6 and is using limewire 4.2 - he says it works just great.

can anyone help?
I'd gladly pay $10 for the pro version if I knew that the free version works well, but so far that isn't the case.

thanks!

Default Buy it

I have the $10 version. I have OS 9.1 and lots of RAM. It works great. I would try another uninstall, then run a find and make sure all the prefs, control panals, and extensions are gone. Then I would buy it and reinstall it. Do you have a Cable modem or DSL? That helps alot too.
