Default uninstalling limewire 17

I installed limewire a few years ago and I found that it worked beautifully. Recently, errors starting popping up, along with instructions about reporting these errors to bugs@limewire.com, which I dutifully did. Now all of a sudden limewire won't open and to make matters worse, the 'uninstall limewire' also won't open. I am interested in installing a more up to date version of limewire, but I want to unstall 17 first. Anybody got any ideas? (please direct me to where this issue is addressed if it is already written about in the FAQ-- I looked, but didn't have time to go through it too thoroughly.)

Thanks to anyone who can offer me a clue...

if the Uninstaller doesn't work, you will have to delete it from your system, but make sure you keep any files that are in your Shared folder, before you trash the LimeWire folder. after that, download the latest version of LimeWire.

I don't even know what has been thrown into my other folders by installation...there was some previous talk about a virus...but i don' t have any. I may sound like a tard for asking this...but hey it' s my first time so be gentle...bottom line!??...i want to install lime 2.8. I've fallen and can't get up...someone help my sorry ****! Oh ya, do i have to mention that i'm using a mac???

Default Try This:

#1 Trash the old LimeWire Application Folder.

#2 Go to prefs and trash the folder ".limewire".

Download and install the newest LW 2.8.6.

If you have trouble with 2.8.6 version of LW then roll back to LW 2.7.13 which seems to work well for many.

Hope this helps.
