I DL'd the new version, it installed with out any errors this time, but when I start up everything grinds to a near stop. If I change the shared settings to an empty foler it all goes to the way things used to be-IT WORKS! I have over 300 files in my normally shared folder and it would take forever and a day to get the program to see them all. I still can't understand why a new version would come out w/o all the fixes in place. What's the deal?!

Is this your first upgrade in a while? Since 2.6.x LimeWire goes through a "Hashing" process. (Don't ask me what it is, I couldn't explain it.) But, it has to do with your shared files and naming them, I think. It takes a while and LimeWire will run slow during this process. Once it's done, it will run normally. Some have suggested letting it run overnight to complete.
