I emailed Limewire about this last week and...surprise....no response...
This link will take you to all the older versions of LimeWire.

Default 2.7.9 dwnld from 11/19 @5PM EST

I was able to install (with the errors described above from the install.log) and was able to launch the app, and connect. However, every time the app is lauched I am forced to go through the set-up wizard. None of the options are saved. In addition, I get the following error on launch and whenever I click on any kind of button in any dialog box.

LimeWire version 2.7.9
Java version 1.1.8 from Apple Computer, Inc.
Mac OS v. 9.1 on PowerPC

Is it possible that one of the older installers has altered the system in some way (outside of LimeWire)? Forgive me if I get the versions mixed up, but I've been through quite a few. I was using a version right after 2.7.3 with no major problems. I installed the version AFTER that one... when I did, I encountered the "missing class" error. SO, I tried going back to the version I was using (with no major problems, as stated), BUT, it gave me the same "missing class" error. I then went back to an even older version; 2.7.3. It installed and functioned normally, but the next time (and everytime after, I got the "reoccuring install wizard" - something I had never experienced. I then dutifully tried installed every version released, including 2.7.9; all install normally, but give the "missing class" dialog upon startup. My only choice is to reinstall 2.7.3 and suffer "the wizard". I am not a programmer, or a poweruser for that matter, but... all this seems to point to a system change that occured with an install right after 2.7.4 or 2.7.5. No matter what change is made... same problem. What's different about 2.7.3? Why does it work? Why the wizard? My gut is telling me that a clean system install would allow me to use 2.7.9, but that's more of a hassle than the wizard. Am I nuts here?
