Unhappy Quality of Downloaded Music

Hi,

I have installed Limewire v 2.2.10, It seems to work to locate songs/music I look for. I have set my preferences/options for 4 stars to get the best indicated quality. After I obtain the down loaded song/music and highlight it and press launch, it plays, but the quality of the song/music is not very good. Is this typical or unusual? Thanks. Ed

Red face Free Music Cuts ~ Quality???

Free music is that, Free...

You see studio cuts, remixes you never heard on the radio, and promo/demo stuff as well. The quality varies based directly upon the source, since the Mp3 is a digital recording, quality in should always equal quality out at your end, unless a file becomes corrupted, and then they won't usually download. If you expect CD master quality all the time, then you are a proponent of CD piracy, which as a RULE I must categorically Speak Out Against! Sometimes some Software makes it to the server which shouldn't be there, and if you found it while innocently looking for Demo's, Shareware, Promo's, and Studio cuts, and downloaded it by mistake. Then I guess the honest thing to do would be to run out and buy the CD right way, if you liked it. If you don't like it because of quality issues, then toss it in the trash can. Free is Free. I never had a trash picker come to my door and complain about the quality of my trash, but I suppose that may be next. Enjoy your hunt for gems, in the refuge pile...I frequently find new music I'd never would have tried here, and so have expanded my musical tastes, and future purchases as a result of the experience here.
