Default Cannot Re Install Limewire MAC OS 9.22

Had Limewire Pro and the computer froze, after rebooting no longer worked.
Removed all Limewire from computer re-downloaded and keep receiving this error.

When I tried to re-install just Limewire Pro basic receive the following error:

While trying to start the next step of the installer, an error occurred,
Could not find file “InstallAnywhere Installer”.

This is on a G3 MAC OS 9.22

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Make sure you have the most recent version of Java (LW runs on Java.) This might be part of your problem. Also go to LW's info window (select LW & CMD+I) & increase the max RAM allocation 2-3 (or more) times depending upon how much ram you have. As for the installer, update your Java 1st & try again. From memory, the installer opens up onto the desktop, use 'that' one. Also, in OS9 it's wise to rebuild your desktop after installing/uninst'ing apps (easy way is to hold down CMD+Option keys as you restart your computer). Also use your utilities to defragment & check for errors that always seem to occur along the way.

Hmm interesting. Delete all traces of Limewire. That includes going to the prefs folder & deleting .limewire & any other LW folders you can find around your HDD. For OS 9.2.2 I presume u have MRJ 2.2.6 for OS 9.2.2 http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120209 & not Java 2.2.5 right? After deleting everything, install again, restart your computer whilst rebuilding your desktop & see how that goes. Also see this thread: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=27981

I am having the same issue... I have done everything suggested in this and the OS 9.2.1 thread with no luck. I have deleted all Limewire traces, ran disk doctor (no errors found), de-fragged and optimized, turned off all non apple extensions, updated Java, rebuilt the desktop, increased ram for Limewire and I still run into the exact same problem: "installanywhere installer cannot be found, contact software vendor." I even went so far as to re-install OS 9.2.2 and see what happens... same result. Then I went through all the above again AFTER re-install of OS 9.2.2 and nothing has changed. What should I try next?

Try dwnlding the latest version of StuffIt Expander for os9 & maybe redwlding LW. See how that goes. (Don't forget to rebuild your desktop after installing any new version of Expander!)
