Default Help! New to Limewire & MAC!

Ok, I just downloaded Limewire for Mac OS 9. I have Mac OS 9.1. I click on the file I downloaded (LimeWireMac.bin). At first nothing happened. i downloaded the newest version of Stuffit, and another file (LimeWire_Installer) appears on my desktop. It's icon looks like a SimpleText icon for some odd reason. Maybe it's assigned to the wrong program? Anyways, I click on it and it says :

The application program
"Limwire_Installer" could not be opened,
because of an error of type -199 occurred

I don't really want to go back to my PC to use Limewire, but I really have no clue of what this means! If you know what can help it, please respond! Thanks a ton!

I'd recommend you try to redownload the file. Also make sure your Java is up to date for OS 9.1: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75097 LW is built on Java & not having the most recent possible version for LW will potentially cause problems. May also cause other browser issues! It did for me! The file not having the correct icon does suggest a dwnld problem. If you have a pc also, why not dwnld LW on there 1st & then transport it to your mac to be on the safe side. And then drag & drop the file onto stuffit expander.

As I remember LW opens up as a disk image onto the desktop as you described. It should then just be a matter of double-clicking it.
