Default Having Trouble installing on OS9.2 Please Help

i keep installing the version for Mac classic, it goes through download manager, I take it through the install, after that, I don't know what to do. I double click on the Limewire alias on the desktop, and I get that clock looking icon in the middle of the screen, and the only option on the task bar at the top, next to the apple, is Help. I click on that and get this...

The application "Limewire" has unexpectedly quit, because of an error of type 2 occurred.

Then I searched the FAQ's on Limewire.com and found this....

Increase the preferred size of the installer in the "Get Info" window for the installer file, and then run the installer again. If the installer gives you another error, reboot your computer and run the installer one last time

How do I do this? Please, if someone can help me, I would be sooo greatful. It's hard enough operating a Mac in a PC world. I just wish I had somewhere to ask questions.

Thanks,

Erin

Put your mouse cursor onto the installer (that's called highlighting it) then press the Apple & i keys. This will bring up a window called the info window. Down the bottom you'll see 2 options in regards to ram. 1st is maximum ram & the other is prefered ram. Increase the size of both of these by what's recommended.

Make sure that you install the last version of Java for os 9 (ignore what they say about 9.2.2 or other): http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120209

After installing any softwre on OS9 make sure you rebuild the Desktop file. Do this by restarting the computer whilst holding down the Apple & Option keys until you see a message saying 'Do you wish to rebuild the desktop', click ok for yes.

Here's some other hints: 1. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...8426#post98426 2. A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds A (1st post only) & also Part B which is even better & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities.
