installing problem

I'm after some help. I've just downloaded version 4.0 for my Mac (OS8.6). Download seemed to complete fine. When I click on the icon on the desktop a dialogue box saying "Welcome to LimeWire setup wizard. LimeWire will guide you through a series of steps to configure LimeWire for optimum performance". Unfortunately there are no places to "click" on so I cannot get any further. I tried uninstalling LimeWire then downloading again but this didn't help. Any thoughts anyone? Cheers. Peter

Hmmm--sounds like the installer can't get enough memory to run, or is in conflict with something else.

I'm very rusty with 8.6, so sorry for being vague. Do you have the MRJ 2.2.5 installed? http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75097

also, I wonder if there might be a conflict with the older version of LW's prefs. What version were you running before you tried to update?

Thanks for your interest. I should make clear that the installation process was successful. I went through a series of dialogue boxes and at the end got a message saying installation successful. I didn't (but now have) MRJ2.2.5 installed. Not sure of the memory situation (virtual memory 997m, disc cache default setting, RAM off. I have haven't installed LW before and just checked in preferences...only once set of LW preferences there. So all is fine until I actually go to use LW and I get this dialogue box relating to the configuration setup. cheers..Peter

Hi Peter

I may be missing something, but it sounds like you are double-clicking the installer when you should be double-clicking the application.

The application called Limewire should have installed in the Applications folder. There may also be an alias installed on the desktop.

Cheers
