I have Limewire 4.0.7(I think?) on my Mac and it worked perfectly until about 2 years ago. It shows the clock for about 5 minutes then a popup says that 'one or more files seem to be invalid.' and to 'Please try downloading and installing Limewire again' which I did - 18 (!!!) times! Recently I uninstalled, hoping it would restore when I reinstalled for the umpteenth time. Well, it didn't. I get an error box that the .lax file could not be found. I checked in the Apple menu, and sure enough, it was there??? (I deleted some stuff then but shouldn't it restore back in the installation if it's vital?? I'm confuseded.)

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm tired of importing from CD's!

(P.S. I tried MRJ 2.2.6, but if possible,I already had a NEWER version. It said i am replacing newer files w/older ones and if I am sure I want to continue.>_< But I know it's Java-related. In the Log It says notsurewhatitsayshere.io.Java_FileNotFoundExceptio n or something like that under 'Fatal errers')

Try reinstalling both MRJ 2.2.5 & then 2.2.6 if it will let you.

Something else i would do is run your utility programs. Such as Disk First Aid, Norton Utilities, DiskWarrior & TechTool if you have them. Defragment your drive. Another option is to reinstall OS 9. Then move across any files such as preferences & extensions from the old one to the new one.
