Corrupt Installer the 11mb Mac installer file for LimeWire (from http://www3.limewire.com/download/LimeWireMac.bin) appears to be corrupt. the MacBinary file decodes fine, but the actual installer throws up an error message almost immediately after opening it saying that the zip file contained within it is corrupt. anyone know any other places to download an uncorrupted version?! thanks, |
Corrupted installer 2.1.1 I only wish I knew where to get an un-corrupted version! Same with me. When the install is pushed, I get a "corrupted zip archive" notice and then the installer quits. I never had this problem with earlier versions. They were terriffic! Anyone with help is welcomed! Please! |
Corrupt installer fix I increased the memory, (like it says in the FAQ) and it installed like a charm. Boy, do I feel stupid! |
How you increase the memory... i have the same problem.... |
Select the installer in the Finder and choose Get Info from the File menu. Look for a Preferred Size field; if you don't see one choose Memory from the Show: pop-up menu. Increase the Preferred Size to 3000, close the window and that should do it. If it gives the same error increase the size again. |
Holy Moly! I have the EXACT same problem! Let's see if that memory increase will help... |
error type -199 I get an error message telling me LimeWire will not install (Mac OS 9.2) because of error type -199. I upped the memory to 3000 and tried again but got the same error message. When I went back to up the memory some more, the preferred size had changed from "n/a" to 4194303 K... So I set the minimum size to the same amount but still got the error message. Help! |
Wow that's a lot of memory. The installer is corrupted so try downloading it again. |
error message -199 Heres something to try, After allocating more memory as it says to do in faq, I was still getting the same infamous error message, even after rebooting. I tried reinstalling and noticed that the activity light on my external hard drive was lightingup. This seemed peculiar to so I temporarily turned off all of my external devices and reinstalled once more, SUCCESS ! |
