Mac Problems with installing LimeWire for Mac users, generally referring to OS 9 and earlier |

9 out 10 tries says "not enough resources" I'm a barely literate grandma with a macbook pro, running OSX.4, bought the limewire upgrade thinking it would solve the problem but didn't change the fact that almost everything I've tried to download gives the response as "not enough resources", even when there are 100+ hosts. Question 2: When I have been sucessful at downloading, when I try to open it, it says, "this is not a movie file." Any help from you geeks? Sounds like you're seeing fake files. If you're searching for music files, use the All Types search & search for artist or album rather than song title. Go for a file with 10 sources or less...stay away from the files with huge numbers of sources. If you're searching for video files, always chech the file with Bitzi before download. Users can rate files with Bitzi & it's great for weeding out fakes & misnamed files. If a file has heaps of sources but no Bitzi rating, chances are it's a fake. Check out the threads below for more info & tips, including how to use Bitzi Fake files showing up in search results How to find music |
