Can anyone help me with some security advice? Hi, I'm a first time user of Limewire and until I'm up to speed with how it all works, I'm really keen to ensure I haven't given everyone open access to my entire hard drive/computer (iMAC). Appreciate the whole idea of this product is to 'share' so I'm not trying to 'not contribute', but until I find out how to set-up up which of my files I make accessible, am nervous about giving someone open slather access to the works. Can any well tell me how I determine what on my computer, is accessible/available for sharing? I can find where to modify/check this. Thanks very much. Dave |

Re: Can anyone help me with some security advice? You dont mention if your using os9, or osX.... if your using X, its easier to do.... imho. Ive never set up limewire to share files, but... I know that under osX, to share, you turn on file sharing under system prefs... anything in your public folder people using your computer can access... of course, if your using os9, what I said makes no sense... |
