downloadz willna open

I am a newbie to both the mac and limewire, though a veteran at kazaa.
I can't get my downloaded programs to open...when i look at them they show up as documents with a .sit extension but no open...any help to offer would be appreciated:confused:

find "stuffit expander"

try stuffit expander (.sit)
stuffit does for mac what .zip does on PC's
