Can't play MPEG Download Some MPEG video's I downloaded cannot be played and I get a message from quicktime that says file can't be translated (or played for that matter) because of error 2003. some MPEGS download just fine and I've even gotten a couple that at first did not work to work using Snitch to change the file type and creator. This didn't work with other files. Any suggestions? |

Do you have the DivX codec installed? |

As I thought about it, I was getting an error message that said something like, "needed application is not on your computer", so I went ahead and downloaded the divx codec. In the process, I discovered that it only works with Windows Media Player 6.3. I probably have Windows Media player 6.3 on a back cd somewhere, but naturally, I would prefer a solution that works with my current Windows Media 7, or Quicktime or some other MPEG player. I'm also afraid of creating a conflict if I put Windows Media Player 6.3 back on my machine. Any further thoughts? Last edited by starren; August 7th, 2001 at 03:25 PM. |
