I can't play my downloaded files I have an imac - I download files and they go into the shared folder. BUT only an occasional file has a quicktime or mp3 icon - those i can play but the vast majority of what I dwonlaod has a blank document icon and those I can not play. I've tried opening real player (basic free version) and clicked on open file and chosen some of these files - still no good. Someone Please Help. |
same happens with me and I am using a G4 450 |
Someone told me to retype the name of the file under the blank document icon, followed by .mp3. And then all of a sudden it changed into a quicktime file! |
with macintosh, go to mac hd-applications folder-quicktime folder-then hit update(must be online(version 5.0.2). if that doesn't work there is always windows media player mac version |

drag blank folder icons onto stuffit expander icon-poof!!! it turns into an actual useable file the majority of the time. the only times i have not had this happen is if the file is unuseable in the first place. depending on what kind of preferences you have set, mp3 files may go to mac os cd player/mp3 player, but then it is only the work of a moment to move it to soundjam, audion, realplayer, etc. and leave it as a file in that application. |
