can't upload...

hi; I've got the 1.3.4 version, and it's going good.. I can download, and everything's peachy. but with file sharing enabled, and allowing bandwidth for uploads, nobody is uploading anything from me. I'm sharing 2.4 gigs of music and movies, and I don't want to be a 'freeloader'... any ideas?
