Downloads never complete?

I've searched the forum and the FAQ, but can't seem to find the answer to these 2 questions:

1) I seem to get connected just fine, but when I attempt to download a file, the status of my download alternates between "Opening connection" and "Sending push request", and the download never seems to complete, (even after as long as 45 minutes for a 2MB file). I'm using a cable modem, and I'm not behind a firewall. Is there something obvious I'm doing wrong? Something in "Preferences", perhaps?

2) In the list of files that are found when I search, some of the filenames are in red. What is that supposed to indicate?

As a new user, I feel like there's probably something really obvious that I'm overlooking. (If there's a more appropriate "new users" forum I should be posting this to, please let me know.)

Any help would be *greatly* appreciated.

In the red

I can't really help you with your main question about the problems downloading. As for the filenames in red I *think* that simply means that the host is behind a firewall, and depending on your own configuration it may or may not be impossible to download from that peer. (As opposed to when the host is not behind a firewall, when there never *should* be any problems downloading, regardless of you having a firewall or not...)

SAME PROBLEM AS **MANY** OTHERS - I have never had a single download complete in this program. This has been an ongoing problem for over a month now, and thru many attempted d/l tries.
I have a Mac G4 tower & a cable modem ISP.
Limewire can download files for me, I can generally get about 60% (overall) of the files I find on lime downloaded.

What do I need to do to make Mactella work?
