Real Player Audio Files When I download audio files lately, they all seem to be "Real" files, and I cannot play them in iTunes, which I prefer to use for playback. Is this simply a hit-or-miss thing, where I just keep downloading until I get a version that I can play in iTunes? Is there some way to tell if the file is "Real" or not? In the "Type" column, they are listed as mps'3, so I figured I would be able to open them in iTunes or QuickTime, but this is not the case. Thanks for any suggestions. |
Wow, there seems to be a lot of this confusion going around. RealPlayer is very aggressive and changes your File Exchange prefs (System 9 and under) when you upgrade. Change the prefs in File Exchange Control Panel (can also get there through Internet CP) and life will be back to normal. Otherwise, all audio downloads will continue to pick up the RP default and that sure is annoying. |
