audio: artist, album title, etc. search
 

During a search, is there any way that I can ask for files by a particular artist, or for files from a particular album, or am I limited to searching for song title files, only? I've tried entering these things, but I just get a whole lot of titles for a whole lot of artists. Thanks.

First make sure the file type you are looking for is set to .mp3 - that should weed out some of the other non audio files that show up in searches.

Second, You don't need to just search for song titles, you can search for artist/band as well. try to search for the band/artists name or the group abbreviation as well - for example don't just search for the band "Insane Clown Posse" also search for "ICP".
remember macs have a short file name limit and most mac users must abbreviate their filenames.
but searching for album titles has never given me a lot of results.

Also keep in mind some bands have more common names that just generate more responses ... I search for the band "Rush" and I get a WHOLE lot of stuff besides just the band I'm looking for.
