Mactella (Macintosh) Mactella has been discontinued. We highly recommend you use an actively developed client instead.

Question mac crashes

I am using a PPC macintosh with MacOS 7.6 with Mactella, but everytime I try and connect to a network the system crashes and has to be restarted.

Does anyone know if I can get round this ?

Thanks.

find a better or different client, wait for a better client (its bound to show up quickly after napster disapears).. or program one yourself..

Very confusing for macs. Can't get anyone to let me download with any speeds. Could be a good system. Probably works ok for DSL or better

if u are using mactella i think it may be because you need OS 8.1 or higher. I remember reading this somewhere. I have os 9.1 and Mactella runs fine for me.

Hope it helps

I'm having the same problem running 8.5.1.

I can't use any of the other clients on gnutellium because I only have 32 megs of ram.

Are there any other file sharing systems, or do I have to wait until I upgrade?

I'm facing similar problems with OS9: I can never quit mactella in the usual way ('quit' command, of course), because it doesn't work. So I have to force it and sometimes shut it down.
Can anyone help?
