Default What gives I thoguht morpheus was like kazaa not gnutella?

I thought morpheus was on the same network as kazaa and that it was different from gnutella - what's the deal?

Morpheus WAS on the same network...

The difference is the protocol they use!

Yes they use now the Gnutella protocol!

Kazaa use the fasttrack protocol!

They are incompatible!

Music City apparently didn't pay their bills and lost the license to use the FastTrack network. In their panic to get Morpheus back up and running, they chose to use the Gnutella network.

Brace yourself because rumor has it Morpheus is changing networks again once their new client is released.

If they do that they will have no recourse to stop people from using the old version of their software if they like it better since it's a free network...

The people should switch to Gnucleus if they like Morpheus because Morpheus is based on the Gnucleus source... but Gnucleus is SPYWARE FREE!!!

On the other hand, since they don't actually get revenue from people using the network itself, the older Gnutella-based Morpheus will still contain the adware they use to generate their revenue.

It's when people start liking the Gnutella network enough that they move to other clients and drop Morpheus altogether that will hurt Music City.
