Problems installing Morpheus 2.0 Help! I can't install Morpheus 2.0. I have a P-IV 1.7 based system running W2K (clean install/new format). When I try to install Morpheus, I get to the Java installation. Then it dies w/ the following error message: "An i/o error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt installation file." Any thoughts? |
Try another gnutella client. BearShare, LimeWire, Gnucleus and Shareaza are very good (if not better) alternatives. |

Morpheus is based on the Gnucleus source and Gnucleus is written in c++, so why they need java? Or did they write an own client now? :p Morgwen |

They dropped Gnucleus because of all the bloated features nobody needs, - like ultrapeers, swarming,... |
Help! I already have limewire installed, but frankly I don't think it's as good as morpheus. Otherwise I wouldn't be trying to install Morpheus :-) Anybody know what's causing this error? The error occurs while the installer is copying the file musiccitydll2.dll from C:\winnt\system32\musiccitydll2.dll. It says "an i/o error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt installation file." Ideas? |
OK, found the fix! Well, I found a copy of Morpheus 1.9 on the net, and installed that. It wouldn't connect to anything, but I installed Morpheus 2.0 over that, and it worked. Hello? I never saw anything saying that Morpheus 2.0 is a patch and won't install w/o 1.9! |
