Installation Help Hi I've always been a windows person but heard a lot of good things about mutella. So I went and partitioned my drive, installed mandrake, downloaded Mutella. Using ark, I unzipped mutella-0.4.1.tar.gz I then opened a konsole, went to the directory where mutella was unzipped. As per the install instructions, I typed in ./configure The following then came up checking build system type...i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking host system type...i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking target system type...i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking for a BSD compatible install.../usr//bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane...yes checking for mawk...no checking for gawk...gawk checking whether make sets ${MAKE}...yes checking for gcc...no checking for cc...no checking for cc...no checking for cl...no configure: error: no acceptable cc found in $path Never having used Linux before, could someone explain what this means and perhaps provide step by step instructions on how to solve this problem. thx Greenbeard greenbeard@canada.com |
Hi! apparently you are missing GCC or some other compiler, which you deffinetely need to compile. :-)) Regards, Max |
