Proxy support Hi, Just got mutella and I'm wondering if it supports proxies? http in particular. Thanks, Lifeless |
Nope, currently it does not. Is it really needed? In which situation then? |
why proxy ?!?? Quote:
First - answering a question with a question is a kind-a not nice (rude)... Second, why not tell the user something that CAN help him !?... ... (provided you are developer) Here is what I know - mutella and other similar p2p client/servers can typically use proxy, but not HTTP - they most often make use of SOCKS proxy (ver.4 ot 5). Now, under windows you can get 'socks2http' - a small tool that will establish a listening SOCKS server on your machine and then reroute SOCKS requests through an HTTP proxy. Under UNIX/Linux there should be a similar way... (don't know). See if you can find yourself more info and post it here, please. Thanks ! ;) |

http://joshbeam.com/software/prtunnel.html prtunnel tunnels TCP connections from local client programs to a remote server through an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy. This is useful if you're behind such a proxy and want to use a program that doesn't have native proxy support. Search freshmeat.com ! |
Looks like the latest source has proxy support for clients. :) Btw, I still love the Mutella logo. Greets, M |
