Remove version numbers. I've noticed that when Limewire auto-updates itself, it neglects to upgrade the version number found in the start menu and in the add/remove programs window. This could cause some confusion.. example, I'm using version 2.43, while the start menu lists it as version 2.33. Could you just call it Limewire? I think that would make things a whole lot easier.. |
Yeah, someone has to say it. That has to be the dumbest idea ever requested. If Winamp was just "Winamp", then you might still be using Winamp 1.0, while I'm using Winamp3.... Version numbers are an absolute necessity to make sure you are up-to-date. BTW: 2.4.3 is the latest LimeWire version, last I checked. LimeWire doesnt overwrite older versions, which I think is stupid... |
are you sure that limewire uses the text written in some windows desktop link while it is a operating system independent client!? I don't think so and I know for sure that the version number is set in the source code - therefor within the program. maybe you are using 2.3!? if you have downloaded 2.4 and installed it also - you should use the 2.4 link to sart it maybe that's the problem. ;) mahalo |
