Default Gnutella Clients

Didn't say Gnutella would be a thing of the past, it is a strong platform. I said, LimeWire would be a thing of the past.

As far as the features working properly, I'd venture to say that there are many, many, users that would tend to disagree with you.

Rather unlikely that we will see the end of the leading gnutella client soon. LimeWire is not the most popuilar client anymore, - however, it's the most popular client after Morpheus (according to CNET).

Default See there. They wont even respond

I create a thread to see if the LW developers will comment on all of this and they dont. What are you guys affraid of? All we ask is that you read through all of our suggestions and requests and comment on them weather or not you can impliment them and if not then give a reason. Most of these threads go un responded and that makes us think you are ignoring us. Or you are stealing all of our ideas and polishing them up to make it look like your brilliant idea.

I will not buy Limewire agian unless I see some true progress on this program. Not just network tweaks. Because most of the servers I connect to are lower version servers anyways so it does not help any to tweak if people arent upgrading for the reason that they see no new features or improvments.

Why cant you guys launch more betas? For example.

LW beta 2.4.5 : With the added feature of Remote Queing. If it works out, then release LW 2.4.5 Pro. Dont worrie about adding 20 new features at once. Just add one usefull one and go from there. I believe that one major upgrade or feature once every few weeks instead of 2 or 3 once every 2 months would be better. Get some more betas going that clearly state what is new and in testing.

You guys should make a new thread updating us on the progress of the program. Letting us know what is in testing and what is being developed. Also give an aproximate time as far as the next release. Its not all that hard. Its called customer support.

You have a long way to go if you want to be the most used Gnetella Port in the world.

Common Lets see some developer comments.

From what I've seen reading the forums, is that they only comment of posts that are not controversial or that can be easily explained due to user error.

Keep dreaming Taliban, popularity fades quickly when people are displeased. You obviously have some learning to do, or is it that you are blind to what people are saying in these forums.

Default LW Staff is Blind

I guess the Lime Wire staff is blind to what is happening to their support from the users. You cant run everything on ads. And promising specific updates and not even posting current status is bad buisness, especialy with all the Gnutella programs out there. I bet they are reading this right now and thinking " Just a few hellians trying to cause trouble " . News flash their LW, most people are starting to think what we are right now. Dont talk about updates unless you plan to impliment them sooner that what you are now.

Good Luck LW.

what does it matter to you if a developer answers your post or a 'regular' user? you don't even know if it is a developer!

Limewire has come up with a whole bunch of features that other clients also added because they are good for the network.
but i guess you don't care about development and improvements.

so i will just repeat what i already told you:
It is impossible to find a bug if no one reporting the bug also reports his/her limewire version, operating system, other relevant issues and a (detailed) error description. the words 'it does not work' mean nothing. how the heck are you supposed to fix a plane if someone tells you it does not fly? a plane is complex. it might be the eninges, the hydraulics, the wings, the weight... who knows?

come down and do something usefull like finding out under which circumstances a bug occours, try around. and then report your bug in the forum.

you need a damn lot of attention for your age! assuming you are older than five years old!

There aren't that many open source developers (and only a few are posting in this forum). If you look at your LimeWire about window you will find the following names:
Richie Bielak, Jerry Charumilind, Marvin Chase,
David Graff, Andy Hedges, Michael Hirsch, Gordon Mohr, Chance Moore, Gregorio Roper, William Rucklidge, Philippe Verdy, Stephan Weber and Fabian Merki (missing in that listing). As far as I know only one of them is posting here every now and then. It's probably more likely to meet a real limewire developer here, than meeting an open-sourcer.

However the limewire developers are really busy people, and they are working hard on big improvements for the next version. They don't have much time for answering questions of their users and some of the users in this forum will know the answers to your questions, so why would you want to wait for some comment from developers?

I posted the thread about the change log and while i supported you at first unregistered, i think you're missing the point now. your argument is that there aren't any updates to the program, but there are. there's lots of improvements to the program, the interface, & the network that have been implemented since i started using limewire a few months ago, you just can't see most of them or notice them unless you download a lot like i do. limewire is a complex program and there are only a few people working on it so you can't expect changes overnight. i'm sure that if there were a up-to-date change log (back to my rant), you would understand that they're making progress and changes are being made. that's just all the more reason to MAKE A CHANGE LOG!!!

Angry WAKE UP!

Hey, when you pay for something you expect it to work right? Now if this was a free program supported only by ads I would not be here complaining. Now you rich foke out there can throw 10 bucks left and right and not care. Ten bucks for me is no big deal, the big deal is that we all pay for a program that works. Granted it has some nice features and the developers/prgramers are hard at work. BUT YOU DON'T PROMISE SPECIFIC UPDATES AND FEATURES AND NOT IMPLIMENT THEM! That is the whole point of this thread. Get that through your head. Read the thread Title. I am not complaining about the network. Gneutella is one of the best things to come around since the internet. But alot of people purchase these programs reading the forums and expecting updates. We all know its an ongoing process and yes it is hard, but the point is not to ask people what features they want when it takes nearly 6 months (Ongoing) to implement them.

Improve the network FINE! Tell US! Dont update the dang program and expect us to update if you dont tell us just what has been updated. If this program was strickly Freeware then it would be different. But now paying customers want to be answered.

If you like this program so much then you dont even need to come to the new features request forum because it obviously is good enoph for you!

No one here even knows what is going on with the program. Thats the point. Understand?

I am starting to agree with the Thread creator here. I used to be totaly supportive of limewire and even went out and purchased it because it had potential. But it seems things have slowed way down. Hokey dory updates about every week and nothing major since the Interface changed. True there are some neat features that have been added since then, but nothing that we are all asking for.

Check out this forum. It seems that alot of people are mad at LW right now.

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=11556

Everyone has their own opinion and while I think this thread is getting out of control there are some good points on both sides. Only Sales will determine which side is right. And I am sure LW does not post earnings every month So we will never really know what is going on untill they themselves come out and talk.
