CD Burner This is to the LimeWire staff. I love LimeWire! It is great for downloading music...except for one thing-the only way to burn mp3's onto cd is by purchasing a $17 burner! I have Musicmatch which burns cd's also on my computer, so why can't I burn my LimeWire music by using that source. You say that LimeWire is free, but to get it to do what I want it to do, it costs $17!!!! |

Spock, I'm a doctor, not an escalator. LimeWire is a peer-to-peer filesharing program. It's for downloading and sharing files with others. It does not need to be a CD Burner, a media player, a toaster oven or a dog polisher. That's what other programs are for. As to the cost of CD burning software; two thoughts. 1. You get what you pay for and 2. You wants to play, ya gots to pay. We certainly don't want to burden the LimeWire developers with such a feature add-in just so kiddies don't have to spend money on the software they want. When you add too many 'features', you get big, slow, buggy software - look at Microsoft Word 2000/2002 for example. Bear |

Personally, I use the CD Burner output plugin for Winamp when I am using Windows. It is by Adaptec (IIRC) and works great. You can get it from Winamp's website. BTW, Winamp beats MusicMatch hands down IMHO. Sure, it might not look as fancy, but it is much more widly used, has more features, and on my computer, sounds noticably better. |

LimeWire isn't an issue here. The files you download with LimeWire are normal computer files and can be moved, deleted or written to CD just like normal files. Nero is one of the best CD writing packages around. The trial version is free but limits you to writing at single speed. Mark |

In Musicmatch, click on My Library- down on the lower left - So that it 'opens'. Now click on Add which is at the top of the My Library window. A panel will open where you can select, with a single-click, the folder which contains your desired music files. When you select the folder you want, the files in that folder will appear on the right of the panel. Either single-click on the music files you want and then 'Add' followed by 'Exit', or just double-click on the file and 'Exit'. You will then see the files you have selected displayed in your My Library window. In your My Library window, Double-click on the songs you want and they will go to the Playlist editor window. In the Playlist window you can select another menu by right-clicking and there you can select "Create CD From Playlist", or simply click on "BURN". In the "Burn" window you will be able to select the 'recording' order and you will see information about how much time is available on the CD-R or CD-RW that you are using. It is not difficult and I am sure that you will get it easily. There ARE better quality, in sound, programs to use, but you will find many links about these other programs....... Later PM me if you have any troubles.
