Lightbulb .ISO search support

Let me start by saying that I really ... no really ... like limewire ... so much so that I purchaced the Pro verson. Its possibly the best Gnutella client that I've used. However, I would like to see support downloading files with *.iso extensions. Further, it would be handy to search by user name (or IP address) as well as file name.

It would also be nice if my scroll mouse would work with Limewire too.

Just my $.02

Hello!

To search for .iso extension files is already possible and quite simple.Do the following:

Go to LW preferences Tools>Options>Sharing

Here in the extension fields just add the .iso extension to do that do the following:

Put the marker in the extension area and then use the right arrow key to scroll to the end of the list and then type the following ;iso then click the Apply button and then OK and you are done and LW will now also search those files for you.

To search for IP addresses is kind of possible.Do the following:

Under the Connections tab in the client area type in the IP address and then click Add.If that IP address exist and if that IP is on the Gnutella network then it will make a connection and if that user is sharing any files then it will for sure show up in your search results. The search for user names is not supported since you do not have a user name on the Gnutella network. The use of a user name would require a DNS server which translates the name in to the corresponding IP and I do not think that we will see such a function in LW or any other Gnutella client any time soon even if it would be great.

The support for a scroll mouse sure is wanted and also one other thing that I would like to be possible in LW is the ability to scroll down the search list with the arrow keys on my keyboard so that I do not have to use the mouse for that.To use the arrow keys is a little more comfortable then the use of a mouse for scrolling and I almost always uses them when using my Internet browser.

Uh...

The Tools|options|sharing tab only specifies what you share with others. It won't make any difference to your searches. If you are searching for something just type the name in the search field (Other people have to be sharing it for you to find it).

LimeWire does support the mouse wheel - provided your Java VM does. Version 1.3 doesn't. Version 1.4 (Java) does.

Cool

Hello!

Yes Mark you are correct about that sorry for my misstake. The reason for my misstake was that I read his post a little to fast and missinterpreted it.So the scroll wheel is supported with Java 1.4 but how about the arrow keys?.
And since I am on a Mac I do not think that the scroll wheel function would work in LW for me.
