Exclamation Filtering by file size (exclude bogus results)

It would not be a bad idea if a user could omit search results by filesize, most bogus (polluting) downloads are differently named files but of the exact same size.

This filter would prevent those who pollute the network with worthless ads/misdirections and instead allow you to focus on REAL files.

I agree. However, I find searching by size isn't useful. I'd rather be able to search a range of sizes, say any file between 300MB to 400MB, or any file less than 100K, for example.

If there's a way to do this, I haven't figured it out. Being able to search a range of sizes would accomplish what you want to do also.

A filter list of known filesizes rather than a range (which could inadvertantly exlude files you'd want) but rather a list of specific filesizes.

Default Filtering by file size

I am constantly receiving results which are like an echo of my search but with a very small file size (e.g. 114.1 Kb or 181.9 Kb). It really would be a great feature if I could filter speciifc sizes out as they are just another form of junk.

Would it not be better to simply ban the wankers that are from Porn companies trying to sell their crap?
I mean they all have the same dodgy file size mostly "1140" etc
If this is not possible then supply me with addresses and you wont have anymore trouble.
Typed in Stargate and the first 20-30 had the same file size and all had bugger all to do with Stargate....at least the versions we see down here anyway?
It seems no matter what you type in, there will be porn under the heading of what your really lookin for. makes me wonder just how safe this site really is????

Agreed with you, anything you search for in any language you will always get small files (less than 200 kbs) exactly with the same name you type before, what a coincidence, that's annoying!!!! they should do something to remove these files.

I want to second the suggestion of riddim_rocker and MarioV. Having the ability to limit search results to more than a specified size would make life a lot easier. Other P to P programs, like Morpheus, have this feature.

You may not have noticed but this thread started over 5 years ago, not only that every so often the "search by size" suggestion reappears (approximately every six months) being re-suggested by various forum members (including myself) and still the programmers ignore it.

So it is highly unlikely that they are going to run with this suggestion now (even though the majority of users want it).

We all have to start going to programming school so we can figure it out ourselves, I think that is the point
