New Feature Requests Your idea for a cool new feature. Or, a LimeWire annoyance that has to get changed. |

A few suggestions I have to say that LimeWire is my favorite Gnutella Client (and it was even before I found out BearShare was bundling SpyWare with its client ). The only unfortunate thing is that LimeWire seems to be less responsive to the community, so I will list my suggestions here: -Supporting multiple simultaneous downloads of the same file from different servers to increase speed and the percent of effective downloads -a rollback (starting a resumed download a few hundred kb back from where it left off) to preserve data integrity -automatically re-searching the network for files that are in the downloads folder to find other servers to resume the files from. Keeping these files until they are deleted so that a user can shut down LimeWire and resume the download again when they go back online -adding an extension to incomplete downloads so that they are not shared and propaged in the gnutella comunity -adding the bitrate of encoding for MP3 search results -Placing the dowloads on a separate tab from the search results |

My limewire has an "Incomplete" folder were it holds files untill they are completly loaded it then moves them to my foler that I set up for saving files. LIMEWIRE is great, the more info options you can give us the bettter I would like it. Like tells us why the sevant did connect or was disconnected, would need and option to clear inactives on the network screen. More info is avalably on the servants, like where it is would be interesting. Is their info avalable on the upload errors (what is going on here is still a mistery (sp) after weeks of reading!) looking foward to next update |

Well, I dont know if I just am having a problem w/ limewire or not then. I do of course have an incomplete folder but if a download stops and I start the same file (from the same or different host) it starts at the begining again and gets rid of the old incomplete file. |

I was reffering to your thought of adding an extension to incomplete files. If we don't share the incomplete file they won't get on the network, an excellent idea other Clones should pickup on. I agree restart from zero is a pain and should be fixed. |

Limewire rev 4.0.2 Macintosh Edition: Does block freeloaders (optional). Does use an incomplete file for inprocess loads. Shows number of servants from each 1st level connection. Can Browse Servants shared folder. Shows file names and path of shared files. Down side:On downloads could show what kind of a Client we are talking with. Doesn't provide for resume of errored loads, (BUG: automatically restarts from 0 if "downlaod any" is selected on 1 servant.) Should show in shared files number of hits in searches and number of loads attempted. Should option clear or not inactive Servant connections and add status for why connection was broken. As a retired Tech, I would like to see all the information that is possiable. [This message has been edited by lightstone (edited 03-07-2001).] |

Pedde, there is a program out there called "trayer" I believe it's on version 3 right now which it shareware, but all previous versions are freeware. This program allows you to minimize ANY program to the system tray... I use it right now, but I forgot where I got it from, may have been c-net but I'm not sure. I realize this isn't the best solution but it works nicely. |
